Ocala - Leesburg Domestic Violence Defense Attorney

Standing Up for the Rights of the Accused

Domestic Violence, Domestic Battery and Domestic Assault accusations and charges are extremely serious and should be treated accordingly. These charges can have a direct impact on your life, family and future. In order to ensure that your rights are protected, enlist the assistance of an experienced criminal defense and domestic violence defense lawyer.

You have an advocate on your side at the Law Offices of Ronald W. Slonaker, in Ocala. I am attorney Ronald W. Slonaker and I have over 40 years of relevant experience handling a wide range of criminal defense matters, including domestic violence, throughout Central Florida. Before becoming a lawyer, I was a police officer for 10 years. This background gives me insight into how law enforcement officials handle a domestic violence call.

If you have been named as a suspect or a Defendant in a Domestic Violence case you may also have to worry about a "no contact" restraining order or as a condition of your pre-trial release. I can represent you at the injunction hearing. I can file a Motion and ask the court to allow you to go home again.

Help Is Only a Phone Call Away

To set up a free initial consultation to discuss the domestic violence charges you are facing, contact my office by e-mail or call local at 352-502-4847. The toll-free phone number to call is 888-365-2180.

Domestic violence can be named many things or referred to as:

  • Domestic battery
  • Domestic assault
  • Spousal abuse
  • Family abuse
  • Harassment
  • Stalking
  • Cyber Stalking
  • Menacing
  • Battery on a Pregnant Person
  • Battery by Strangulation

Regardless of the terminology or type of charges, I can help you stand up for your rights and fight to keep your criminal record clear.

Restraining Orders

In most domestic violence cases, the alleged victim will seek out a restraining order or order of protection against the alleged attacker. I work hard to see that the restraining order is not issued or the terms of the order are reasonable. We can ask the Court to terminate the Order or seek Modification of the terms of the Order. We can try to get the Court to allow you to talk with the other person or even go home again.

False Allegations of Domestic Violence

Unfortunately, many individuals will make accusations of domestic violence in order to gain the upper hand in situations, such as a child custody dispute. They also may make false allegations in retaliation or as revenge, such as over a break-up. I take all domestic violence cases very seriously and go to great lengths in order to investigate a situation and prove the claims false when false allegations are suspected.
